PARADISE Revisited
I can’t believe this month went by so fast. I’m a little bit more than 3K away from reaching my goal for the month on Kingdom of Dust for FebNo, and I’m really excited about that. However, it means that March is just around the corner, and you know what that means!
It’s almost time for NaNoEdMo! Almost time for me to return to PARADISE LOST at last! Please, someone, protect me from the sea leopards! Whoops, guess I shouldn’t have given that away!
I have been meaning to pick up the first draft of the book for the longest time, and now it’s only three days away. I have to read my novel, which I have to edit, in three days. The thing is, I’m still rather familiar with the story, because I transferred it over to Liquid Story Binder the other day. Let me tell you something: taking a novel from yWriter and putting it in Liquid Story Binder is excrutiatingly painful and slow. In yWriter, for some completely idiotic reason, you have to write in scenes, after breaking those scenes up into chapters. (Which was my main reason for ditching the program) And in Liquid you simply write in chapters. To transfer Guardians from one software to the other, I had to copy and paste everything scene by frickin scene. It was tormenting. It took me somewhere around an hour and a half of doing nothing but copying and pasting to get the story transferred across the two softwares.
Sorry, I’m rambling. I’m really excited about getting to go back to PARADISE LOST. I think EdMo will give me a great way to start editing, and I’m really hoping that by the time I get to the end of Draft 3 I’ll have a coherent storyline rather than the characters just running from place to place. Maybe I should desperse mroe info throughout the novel instead of dumping it all on the reader at the beginning and end. Who knows where this will end up going? We’ll just have to wait and see, I guess!
